Ms Maria Pavlakou – Headteacher

Ms Pavlakou is a passionate educator and leader. She holds a degree in Greek Language and Linguistics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, along with a Master’s in Comparative Linguistics and Language Variation (with distinction) from the University of Patras. She is also a qualified teacher with specialist training in teaching Greek as a second/foreign or heritage language and is dedicated to staying at the forefront of the latest trends and research in the field. Ms Pavlakou’s commitment to supplementary education has been recognised with a teacher’s award in Community Partnership from Manchester City Council. She strives to create a safe learning environment where everyone feels supported and motivated.

Ms Niki Agathangelidou, Teacher

Ms Agathangelidou is a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher. She has a solid background in Greek having studied Philology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has qualified teacher status and extensive experience spanning across Greece, Germany, and the UK, where she specialised in instructing Greek as a heritage language. Ms Agathangelidou’s expertise extends to working with children with special educational needs (SEN), and her commitment to creative teaching and learning has earned her a nomination for a teacher award at the latest Supplementary School Achievement and Celebration event. She is committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment, empowering students to reach their full potential.

Miss Vasia Romaiou, Teacher

Miss Romaiou is an early childhood specialist with a degree in Early Years Education from the University of Ioannina. She is a qualified teacher with over three years of experience in a day nursery and one year as a Teacher Assistant in a local primary school. She specialises in teaching bilingual/multilingual children and continuously seeks innovative teaching methods, earning award nominations for creative teaching and learning and youth voice and children’s rights at the latest Supplementary School Achievement and Celebration event. Miss Romaiou’s teaching philosophy is centred around creating an interactive and enjoyable learning environment where children can develop not only their Greek communication skills, but also their physical, emotional, and social abilities. 

Ms Chatitze Achmet, Teacher

Ms Achmet is an artist and educator with a background in fine arts and pedagogy. She earned her BA in Fine Arts, specialising in painting, from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul, followed by a pedagogic formation that qualifies her to teach in educational settings. She furthered her studies with a Master’s in Fine Arts from Manchester Metropolitan University.

With experience teaching both children and adults, Ms Achmet has worked in various settings, offering face-to-face classes in Turkey and the UK, as well as online sessions with students in Greece, Germany and the UK. Growing up bilingual (Turkish and Greek), she understands the unique challenges and advantages of being multilingual, as well as the cultural richness this brings.

As a dedicated artist and teacher, Ms Achmet values listening to her students’ individual needs and supporting their personal development. She believes in fostering creativity and curiosity, encouraging learners to explore their interests. With her deep love for working with children, Ms Achmet aims to create nurturing environments where learning and self-expression go hand in hand.

Ms Danai Tselemponi, Teaching Assistant

Ms Tselemponi is an aspiring and enthusiastic teaching assistant. She holds a first-class honours degree in Psychology from Bangor University and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Neuroimaging for Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Manchester. Having gained experience in healthcare and educational settings in the UK, Ms Tselemponi currently works as a supply teaching assistant in local schools. As a native Greek speaker with a track record of achievements, she is excited to support learners in their Greek learning journey and contribute to an interactive and dynamic environment, where everyone feels nurtured and encouraged to learn.

Ms Loukia Michaelidou, Teaching Assistant

Ms Michaelidou is a dedicated and accomplished organisational psychology graduate, eager to bring her expertise and passion to the role of teaching assistant. She holds a master’s degree in Organisational Psychology from the University of Manchester and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Cyprus, where she consistently excelled academically. Ms Michaelidou has gained valuable experience working with children during her undergraduate studies and through volunteering, demonstrating her commitment to fostering well-being and a positive climate in diverse communities. As a native Greek-Cypriot speaker, she is enthusiastic about helping children embrace and develop their Greek language skills in a fun and supportive environment, ensuring every child feels encouraged and confident in their learning journey.
