The sun was shining over Greater Manchester on 10th June 2023, when we had the pleasure and privilege to welcome GreekToys Children’s Revolution, an educational project promoting the ancient Greek heritage through technology and interactive workshops. The visit entertained our pupils and provided them with a valuable learning experience fostering a deeper understanding and connection with the ancient Greek culture.
The day began with an engaging presentation introducing the children to the fascinating world of ancient Greek toys. The children were captivated as they found out about various toys, including dolls, spinning tops, yo-yos, and toy animals on wheels.
Our pupils then took part in hands-on activities, as they had the opportunity to create their own versions of ancient Greek toys using clay. Under the guidance of the GreekToys team, the children exercised their creativity and brought their toy models to life. The event was a resounding success and some of our pupils apparently kept talking about this experience at home all week!
We are grateful to Sofia and Louis from GreekToys and we look forward to their next visit in the not too distant future.
