A day at Salford Museum and Gallery

On 20th May 2023 we embarked on an exciting adventure as we visited the Salford Museum and Gallery. The children were buzzing with anticipation as they eagerly took part in a scavenger hunt, leading them to discover the painting ‘Aesop composing his fables’ by Charles Landseer. The visit was especially meaningful, as our pupils had recently delved into the enchanting world of Aesop’s fables during their school lessons.

We then ventured to Lark Hill Place, a remarkable Victorian street exhibit within the museum. Amidst this atmospheric setting, we were particularly drawn to the toy shop. Here, we immersed ourselves in a bygone era, marveling at the collection of toys that used to be cherished by children of the past. This served as a fitting prelude to the upcoming GreekToys Children’s Revolution, which we are going to write about in our next blog post.

This unforgettable visit to Salford Museum and Gallery has left an indelible mark on our pupils, who forged connections between the classroom and the real world through art and storytelling.
